Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Causes Weight Gain

Most of the women face weight gain at some point of their life and compete with it, but women with PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) may face many difficulties to lose weight. PCOS is a hormonal imbalance or disorder commonly faced by many women of childbearing age. PCOS can also lead to infertility problems. Production of high male hormone causes several health issues like acne, hair growth, irregular menstruation, weight gain and so on. As heavy weight is caused due to high male hormones, you feel the excess pounds in abdomen area just like men. Women with polycystic ovary syndrome have more of an apple shape instead of pear shape. Fat accumulations in abdominal area are the most dangerous and can lead to several health complications like cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and so on.
